Uptempo

It is also used as an umbrella term for a quick-paced electronic music style. In contrast to Downtempo, Uptempo is usually intended more for dancing than relaxing and socializing, as most releases are produced for the dance floor. Rather than being a coherent genre, this term generally refers to the tempo (BPM) of the music rather than musical style or composition - since DJs mix together records with similar tempos, it is often necessary for them to delineate between slower and faster music.
