HMAS Barwon (K406)

HMAS "Barwon" (K406) was a River class frigate that served the Royal Australian Navy from 1946–1947. She was named for the Barwon River in Victoria and was one of twelve River class frigates built for the RAN during World War II.

"Barwon" was launched at Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Co. Ltd., Sydney and commissioned into the RAN on 12 January 1946. She was decommissioned on 31 March 1947 and sold for scrapping in January 1962.
