Slim Dunlap

Slim Dunlap

Bob "Slim" Dunlap (born August 14, 1951) is an American musician. He is a Minnesota-based guitarist and singer-songwriter who is best known for replacing The Replacements' original lead guitarist, Bob Stinson. Dunlap joined the band in 1987, after the release of the album "Pleased to Meet Me". Dunlap played lead guitar for the Replacements until they broke up in the summer of 1991. His earlier career included work with Curtis Almsted's punk band The Spooks beginning in 1978. Curtis Almsted is also known for his work in Curtiss A. Dunlap contributed to all but one of the Spooks' albums. Since the Replacements broke up he has kept a relatively low profile, but he has remained active on the local Minneapolis-Saint Paul music scene, and aided former Georgia Satellites singer-guitarist Dan Baird on tour for Baird's album, "Love Songs for the Hearing Impaired." He has released some solo material, including two albums, " The Old New Me" in 1993 and "Times Like This" in 1996.
