Smartstores

Smartstores is the generic term for next generation retail technologies that use RFID that sell using a full complement of smart technologies including smart shelves , smart carts, smart cards, etc.

Retailers are fast adopting technologies that enhance the productivity of store space and inventory. Some solutions include kiosks and self-checkout terminals, with RFID keeping track of all incoming and outgoing products. Smartstores technology offers consumers better information about products and more control over the shopping process.

Smartstores enable retailers to recognize customers and immediately cater to their individual needs. People shop at Amazon because it tracks everything and can give recommendations based on past purchases. Bricks-and-mortar smartstores provide similar functionality.

Famous smartstores today include Wal-Mart, The Extra Future Store, and BGN.
