Telugu poetry is verse originating in the southern provinces of India, namely Andhra Pradesh.

Origins

Telugu is a language at least 1000 years old [http://www.ucpress.edu/books/pages/9151.html] . Poetry from that language is quite ancient as well and covers spiritual, mythological and secular writings.
