Access Computer

Access Computer

Access Computer was the name of a United States computer company and also a luggable computer they sold in 1982. The name of the computer was shortly changed to "Actrix DS" because of copyright issues, and the company was renamed Actrix.

The "Access Computer" had a detachable keyboard, a 7" built-in CRT monitor, and a built-in 80 CPS Epson FX80 dot matrix printer. It used the CP/M operating system, and also included a modem and came bundled with C Basic, the Perfect-series office software, Personal Pearl database and Fancy Font markup/formatting system.

The "Actrix DS" was presented at the Las Vegas Comdex in November 1983. There was another model called the "Actrix SS" with a 170k 5"1/4 disk drive. Actrix appears to mean "'Access maTrix".
