Finnås

Finnås

Finnås is a former municipality in Hordaland county, Norway.

The parish of "Finnaas" was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt).

On July 1, 1916 the municipality was split to create three new municipalities: Bremnes, the northern part of Finnås with 3.411 inhabitants; Moster, the southeastern peninsula with 1.316 inhabitants and Bømlo to the southwest with 1.217 inhabitants.

Today, the three municipalities are united under the name Bømlo.
