Japanese destroyer Hatsushimo

"Hatsushimo" was a sclass|Hatsuharu|destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her name means "First Frost of Season".

On 30 July 1945, while maneuvering under air attack by Task Force 38 in Miyatsu Bay, "Hatsushimo" struck a mine and sank 12 miles (22 km) west-northwest of Maizuru, Kyoto (coord|35|33|N|135|12|E). She was the last Japanese destroyer sunk in World War II.
