Radcliffe cricket club had a fantastic 2006 season with Anwar ul Haq and Ash Gorsi really showing some class with bat and ball for the first XI. For the second XI Pete Hall had a fantastic season with the bat scoring well over 500 runs and with the ball Mark Sajewicz took 52 wickets and the inexperienced Michael Burns helped out with over 30 wickets.

Club chairperson Louise Farley has done a great job securing the skills of Usman Tariq the very highly rated Pakistan A batsman and he's also secured a a grat and the captin Daniel Farley

The second team have a real chance to make an impact in the 2007 season with the coming of age of many talented youngsters such as Franklin, Smalley, Gibson and Pilejko, and also the experience of some old timers such as Mark Sajewicz.

The first team again will be captained by Stephen Holt again and Dene Bowman will be taking over the second team this year and the second teamers are hoping for a bit of consistency this year after having four different captains last year in Mark Sajewicz, Dave Pilejko, Gaz Nicholson and Pete Taylor.

The Victorious 3rd team this year has undergone major changes with last year's cup winners such as top bowler Dave Pilejko, run scorer Liam Franklin and wicketkeeper Sean Gibson being left out this season in order to give some of Radcliffe's young talent a chance. Again the 3rd team will be captained by Chris 'Bruce' Owens who did a fantastic job helping them to the Roydes trophy and very good position in the league last year.

Radcliffe CC is not only known for its fantastic third team or the fact that Gary Sobers once graced its juicy green turf. But it is renowned for giving everyone an equal opportunity. The prime example of this is Stu Hart. Stu Hart suffers from chronic regional pain syndrome in his left hand, meaning that it can't be used. He is a very talented cricketer and while he bats with one arm, there is no stopping him when bowling or fielding.

Radcliffe is surely a big club of the future and has this year received club mark, and now has a number of highly talented ECB level two coaches to keep the teams in check and also to bring on the talents of the youngsters. So far this season the youngsters have performed well against some more experienced teams. They have been guided well by Chris 'Bruce' Owens and the vice captain Pete Taylor. The 3rd XI had won 3 and lost 2 against some strong opposition, with some outstanding performances from under 14, under 15 & under 16 players.
