History

Currently, Norway has two national beauty pageants: Frøken Norge which qualifies its winners to Miss World and Miss Universe; and Miss Norway, where the winner competes in Miss Earth since 2010[1] and the runners-up go to Miss International and some minor international pageants.

Since 1985, Frøken Norge is a registered trademark in Norway and the supervisor is Geir Hamnes; while Miss Norway was established by Geir Killingland in 1983 and is organized by Norwegian Models headed by Armand Bye.[1]
