Rhapsody (scorewriter)

Rhapsody was a scorewriter program for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh, developed by US company Passport Designs Inc., then (upon Passport's demise) acquired and discontinued by GVOX. Rhapsody was originally released in 1995 as a cheaper alternative to Passport’s Encore software.

Rhapsody Features

* Create scores with up to 32 staves of music.
* Individual Part Extraction with control over lyrics and markings.
* Transpose music into any key.
* Lyrics and text can be placed anywhere within a score.
* Chord symbols and fret diagrams change automatically when the music is transposed.
* Support for Color and MIDI Bank Select.
* Transcribes live entry, step by step and standard MIDI files.
* Plays back repeats, coda phrases and endings.
* Write music in any Key and Time Signature.
* Supports General MIDI.
* Provides markings for sustain pedals, dynamics, endings, repeats and measure numbers.
* Tempo Window lets the user change the tempo at any time.
* Rhapsody displays the score as an actual piece of sheet music.
