Máirín Quill

Máirín Quill (born 15 September 1936) is a former Irish Progressive Democrats politician. She was a Teachta Dála for Cork North Central from 1987 to 1997.

A teacher, Quill was one of 14 Progressive Democrat TDs elected to Dáil Éireann in the 1987 general election, the first election after the party was founded. She had previously contested the 1977 election and the 1981 election as a Fianna Fáil candidate.

She retained her seat in the two successive elections, but lost it at the 1997 general election to Billy Kelleher of Fianna Fáil. She was then by nominated by the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, to the 21st Seanad . She did not contest the 2002 election, and did not become a member of the 22nd Seanad.

From 1979 until 2009 she had been a local councillor for the North East Ward in Cork City Council. She did not contest the 2009 local elections.
