Sudbury Town was a football club from Sudbury, Suffolk, England. It merged with Sudbury Wanderers in 1999 to form A.F.C. Sudbury.

Formed in 1885, Sudbury Town were founder members of the Suffolk FA in the same year.cite web|url=http://www.afcsudbury.com/club/history.asp|title=Club History|publisher=www.afcsudbury.com|accessdate=2008-06-02] Geoff Hurst's father, Charlie, was player-manager in 1950–51 [cite web|url=http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/TheFAVase/NewsAndFeatures/Postings/2003/05/47625.htm|title=Hurst goes back to his roots|publisher=www.thefa.com|date=2003-05-08|accessdate=2008-06-02] before they joined the Eastern Counties League in 1955–56.fchd|id=SUDBURYT|name=Sudbury Town] Sudbury Town won the League seven times between 1974 and 1990 and reached the FA Vase final in 1988–89. The match against Tamworth set a new record attendance for an FA Vase final of 26,487, [ [http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/TheFAVase/NewsAndFeatures/Postings/2007/03 West Country rules] The FA, 1 March 2007] After a 1-1 draw in the first match, Tamworth won the replay (played at Peterborough United's London Road Stadium) 3-0. In 1990 the club joined the Southern League Southern Division. Under the leadership of former Arsenal player Richie Powling, [ [http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4158/is_19961115/ai_n14077930 Football: FA CUP COUNTDOWN: Powling's paupers can cash in] The Independent, 14 November 1996] the club reached its highest place in the National League System between 1994–95 and 1996–97, when they played in the Southern League Premier Division and reached the second round proper of the FA Cup in 1996–97 after beating Football League club Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties in the first round replay (they lost 3-1 to Brentford in the second round, a game played at Layer Road in Colchester). However, they dropped back to the Eastern Counties League in 1997. Additionally, the club won the Suffolk Premier Cup 13 times.

On the 1 June 1999, financially-troubled Sudbury Town merged with neighbouring Sudbury Wanderers to form A.F.C. Sudbury.
