Tex G. Hall

Tex G. Hall (“Ihbudah Hishi” “Red Tipped Arrow”), (born 18 September 1956) is a Native American nationally recognized elected tribal chairman and leader. He served as the chairman of the Three Affiliated Tribes from 1998 to 2006. He ran for the position of President of the National Congress of American Indians in 2001 and successfully won his campaign at the annual convention in Spokane, Washington over Chairman Brian Wallance of the Washoe Tribe of Nevada. Tex was reelected in 2003 at the annual convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico over Ernie Stensgar, Chairman of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho.

Tex Hall grew up on his family’s ranch in Mandaree, North Dakota where he still ranches cattle. Tex Hall is now the Chairman of the Inter Tribal Economic Alliance.

Hall earned his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Mary in North Dakota. In 1995 Hall was named North Dakota Indian Educator of the Year.

Hall has also been inducted into the North Dakota Amateur Basketball Hall of Fame, the National Indian Athletic Association Hall of Fame, and the Minot State University Bottineau Athletic Hall of Fame.
