University of Warwick Halls of Residence

The University of Warwick provides the majority of accommodation to first-year undergraduate and first-year postgraduate students in purpose-build Halls of Residence. There are 5,671 student bedrooms on campus.

Undergraduate residences

Arthur Vick

Three halls, 396 single en suite rooms, undergraduates, high speed network/internet access, shared kitchen and lounge facilities, 30 week lets, £97 per week in 2006/2007.

Benefactors

One hall, 22 single en suite and 24 twin en suite rooms, undergraduates, high speed network/internet access, kitchen on each floor, large communal lounge, 30 week lets, £90 single and £73 twin per week in 2006/2007. A price increase to £98 single and £80 twin per week was seen in 2007/2008 and a further price increase of £104 single and £85 twin will be seen in 2008/2009. Two minute walk from the Student Union, five minute walk from the Laundry/Post Room, and three minute walk from Costcutters.

Single rooms size 4.9m X 2.9m, furnished with a wardrobe with two drawers and space to hang clothes with an additional lock-able top drawer, desk, shelves, bedside table & lamp, bed, dresser with four drawers, table, two chairs and trash can.

Bathrooms contain showers, toilets and sinks with facilities for shaving instruments & light. Cleaned weekly, which includs hoovering, dusting and full bathroom/toilet cleaning.

Bins emptied daily, communal areas including kitchen & common room cleaned daily.

Claycroft

Three blocks of eight-person flats, first and final year undergraduates and postgraduates allocated to separate blocks by type, high speed network/internet access, telephone in study bedroom, kitchen and lounge facilities in each flat, same sex bathroom shared between two study bedrooms, the halls are approximately 10 minutes from the Students Union, 5 minutes walk from the Library and the adjacent academic buildings, 2 minutes from the Maths block, these halls have the advantage of being the closest to the local 24 hour Tesco supermarket. They offer 39 week continuous lets for undergraduates and 50 week lets for postgraduates, £86 per week in 2006/2007. Considered by many to be the best dorm in Warwick University.

Cryfield

Three halls, 286 single study bedrooms, undergraduates, high speed network/internet access, kitchens, common room on the ground floor, bathroom facilities on each floor, 30 week lets. Refurbished for 2006/2007 to provide two kitchens per corridor (around 29 people), instead of the original one. This partly explains the rent increase to £60 a week. The latest prices for 2008/2009 are £70 for one apartment.

Heronbank

A brand new hall of residence providing 701 single en suite study bedrooms of eight person flats for undergraduates and postgraduates, high speed network/internet access, kitchen and lounge facilities in each flat, approximately 15 minutes walk, or a short cycle ride, from the Students' Union, 39 week continuous lets for undergraduates and 50 week lets for postgraduates, £107 per week for 2008/2009.

Hurst

50 six-person flats in eight blocks, final year undergraduates, high speed network/internet access, kitchen and bathroom facilities in each flat, five minutes walk from Students' Union, 39 week continuous lets, £61 per week in 2006/2007.

Jack Martin

Four halls, 428 single en suite rooms, undergraduates, network/internet access, kitchen facilities on each floor, 30 week lets, £94 per week in 2006/2007, £112 per week in 2008/2009

Lakeside

574 single en suite study bedrooms in four blocks of eight-person flats, first year undergraduates and postgraduates allocated to separate blocks by type, high speed network/internet access, telephone in study bedroom, kitchen and lounge facilities in each flat, approximately 15 minutes walk, or a short cycle ride, from the Students' Union, 39 week continuous lets for undergraduates, 50 week lets for postgraduates, £109 per week in 2008/2009.

Redfern

45 five-person flats in five blocks, final year undergraduates, high speed network/internet access, kitchen and bathroom facilities in each flat, five minutes walk from Students' Union, 39 week continuous lets, £64 per week in 2006/2007.

Rootes

Five halls, 921 single rooms, undergraduates, high speed network/internet access, kitchen/diner and bathroom facilities on each floor, centrally located with easy access to all facilities, 30 week lets, £81 per week in 2006/2007.

Tocil

60 six- and twelve-person flats in ten blocks, first year undergraduates and final year undergraduates and postgraduates, students are allocated separate blocks by type, high speed network/internet access, kitchen and bathroom facilities in each flat, adjacent to the sports centre with easy access to all facilities on central campus, 39 week continuous lets extendable to 50 weeks for postgraduates, £68 per week in 2006/2007.

Westwood

Eight halls, 460 single study bedrooms (in most instances), undergraduates, high speed network/internet access, shared kitchen and bathroom facilities on each floor, communal common room on the ground floor of each hall, 15 minutes walk or a short cycle ride to central campus, 30 week lets, £74 per week in 2007/2008 (raised by £7 per week on the previous year). Located on Westwood Campus to the north of all other university buildings. Kitchens are usually shared between around 26 people, and contain 2 hobs, 1 oven and 2 microwaves. Bedrooms are some of the bigger rooms on campus

Whitefields

16 houses of 12 single rooms, kitchen and bathroom facilities in each house, ground floor lounge in each house, centrally located with easy access to all facilities, 39 week lets, £60 per week in 2006/2007.

Postgraduate residences

Claycroft

Three blocks of eight-person flats, first and final year undergraduates and postgraduates allocated to separate blocks by type, high speed network/internet access, telephone in study bedroom, kitchen and lounge facilities in each flat, same sex bathroom shared between two study bedrooms, approximately five minutes walk from the Library, 39 week continuous lets for undergraduates, 50 week lets for postgraduates, £86 per week in 2006/2007.

Off-campus Accommodation

The University of Warwick's Accommodation Service acts as landlord on a large number of properties in Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and Earlsdon in Coventry. It also acts as an agent for Union Court in Leamington Spa and Liberty Park in Coventry.
