Producer, Songwriter and Ivor Novello[3] ASCAP and Billboard award winner Christopher Braide has achieved considerable success as a songwriter in the UK and the US. His songs have helped to sell over 30 million records. In an article for GQ magazine, Braide featured among the most successful and influential men in the music business under the age of 40. He is a member of the band The Producers with legendary producer Trevor Horn[4]
Braide has recently produced and written songs for Sia Furler, Nikki Yanofsky, Paloma Faith, Loick Essien[5], Yunalis Zarai, Katharine McPhee, Pixie Lott, Lana Del Rey[6], the late Amy Winehouse protege Dionne Bromfield and UK pop sensation JLS .

Career
Early career
At the age of 16 Braide signed his first publishing contract with Zomba Music Publishing.[7] In an interview with HitQuarters he cited this as his career breakthrough because, in his words, it "opened up the world to me".[7] He moved to London aged 18, where he signed to Polydor Records as a recording artist.[7]
Recording artist
In 1993, Braide recorded an album for Lucian Grainge who was then the MD of Polydor Records. The album was produced by the legendary Thomas Dolby and Simply Red's Mick Hucknall.[8]
In 1996 Dave Stewart signed Braide to his Warner Brothers backed label Anxious Records who released a single co written with Chris Difford "If I Hadn't Got You", and second single "Heavenly Rain", followed a year later by the album, Life In A Minor Key which was co-produced by Braide and David A. Stewart at Electric Lady Studios in New York. The record was released in the US in 1998 by Craig Kallman and Atlantic Records.[7]Songwriting and record production
During 2009/2010 Braide wrote and produced songs on 7 platinum albums including Cheryl Cole's triple platinum debut Three Words, JLS's self titled album JLS and their second album Outta This World, Westlife's Where We Are, Diana Vickers' "Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree", Olly Murs debut album and the reformed Boyzone's Brother album.
Sia Furler has recently co written two songs with Braide for her forthcoming solo album due out early 2012.The pair have also recently written songs for Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis and The B52's Kate Pierson.
Chris co- wrote the UK number one single "Have You Ever" with Andrew Frampton and Cathy Dennis and the UK number 2 single "Say Goodbye" with Cathy Dennis for Simon Fuller's pop creation S Club 7. Both multi platinum records were produced by Steve Lipson.
In 2008 James Morrison recorded a song co written with Braide called Save Yourself, for Morrison's second album Songs for you, Truths for me. The album went triple platinum selling over 800,000 copies.
"This Is the Night" and "Invisible", were recorded by American Idol’s Clay Aiken. “This Is The Night” entered the Billboard Hot 100 in June 2003, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. It was the biggest US single of 2003, selling over one million copies and reaching 6 times platinum status in Canada as well as number 1 in New Zealand. In 2010, it remains the most successful American Idol single ever.[5] The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and was, with 613,000 copies sold in its first week, the highest-selling debut for a solo artist in 10 years, and to date the highest debut of any Idol.[6] The follow up single "Invisible" became one of the most played songs on US radio the following year and earned Braide two ASCAP awards. In 2011 "Invisible" was included in the 10th anniversary "American Idol Greatest Hits" compilation.
Kylie recorded the song After Dark which featured on her platinum selling album Body Language. The song was written and produced by Chris Braide/Cathy Dennis. A special live performance of the song was shown on Top Of The Pops to promote the album.
"Anything Is Possible" was the UK number one single for Will Young In 2002, selling 1,108,659 copies in its first week and over 1.7 million copies in total. The song earned Braide and co writer Cathy Dennis both an Ivor Novello award the following year. In January 2010 it was named as the UK's bestselling single of the decade, as the Official Charts Company's 2000-2009 sales data roundup was officially released.[9]
Don't Call This Love was the 2009 X Factor winners single reaching number 3 in the UK singles chart[10]
2010 saw the release of the Pixie Lott album "Turn It Up Louder" which featured a song written and produced by Braide called, Doing Fine (Without You).
Diana Vickers' "Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree" which debuted at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart, included four songs written and produced by Braide,[11]
Chris co-wrote the debut single for Diana DeGarmo - "Dreams", which made its debut at #2 in record sales and #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2005. The song was also recorded by Fantasia Barrino and featured on her platinum selling single "I Believe".
Jesse McCartney released the single Because You Live, written by Chris Braide, Andreas Carlsson and Desmond Child and featured on Mccartney's platinum selling album "Beautiful Soul". The song also appeared on the Million selling Princess Diaries soundtrack.
In 2011 Chris worked with Brooklyn Rapper Theophilus London on the experimental album Human Feel. A fusion of New York rap and early 1980's electronic new wave. London and Braide also co wrote and recorded a song called Century Girl with Lightspeed Champion for a separate project,
