Anne Davies (British journalist)

Anne Davies is a presenter for the BBC local news programme East Midlands Today in the East Midlands. The show comes from Nottingham each weekday night at 6.30pm. Anne comes from the Isle of Wight.

Anne began work for BBC Current Affairs, working behind the scenes on Question Time and Panorama. She moved to Radio Leicester and Radio Derby, then became a continuity presenter for Central East. She became the regular newsreader for Central News East. She moved to GMTV, presenting the first programme with Eamonn Holmes. She read the news on the first hour of the programme from 6 - 7am (Penny Smith has taken over the early-morning reins), and did the Friday show with Eamonn. She also read news bulletins for the Reuters Newshour.

She moved back to the East Midlands, where she lives in Leicestershire with her husband and two children, to work for the BBC in May 2001.
