Zealot (Thomas Philip Moreau) is a fictional character, a supervillain in the Marvel Comics universe who possesses the ability of earth-manipulation. He is an enemy of the X-Men's sometime foe Magneto. He appeared in the "Magneto Rex" miniseries.

Fictional character biography

Zealot is a mutant from the island nation of Genosha. He is the son of the Genegineer who genetically engineered Genosha's mutant population, transforming them into a slave caste in the process. Zealot became an enemy of Magneto when the latter was given control of the war-torn, emancipated Genosha by the United Nations. Zealot led a force of mutant rebels who violently opposed Magneto's rule, and fought Magneto, Rogue and Quicksilver. In the end, Zealot was killed by Magneto, who encased him in silicate matter and hurled him into space.

Video games

Despite his obscurity, Zealot appeared as a boss in the video game "" voiced by Armin Shimerman. His nature and motivation are much the same in the game as in the comics, but in the game, he is allied with Apocalypse in an alliance of convenience. The player's party defeats Zealot near the halfway point of the game's first act. He has special dialogue with Magneto.
