96th Street is a station on the IND Eighth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. It is a two level local station with northbound trains using the upper level and southbound trains using the lower level.
The current station has two exits, three steps up to northbound platform, one stair down to the lower level at full time side and another at the part time side to 97th Street. The part time side has two street stairs. The exit to the northwest corner is relocated with a longer passageway. This is due to the widening of 97th Street. The south end of the station has a closed exit to 95th Street.
