The State of Somaliland was a short-lived independent state in the Horn of Africa that existed in the five-day interim between independence from United Kingdom on 26 June 1960 and integration into the Somali Republic on 1 July 1960. Its only prime minister was Muhammad Haji Ibrahim Egal, who also served as "de facto" head of state.
