The FEU Tamaraws is the varsity team of Far Eastern University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Far Eastern University, one of the founding members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) of the Philippines and the University Athletic Association of the Philippines in 1938, together with University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, and National University. The team participated in the NCAA Philippines in 1929, then eventually withdrew in 1932, which set out to establish the UAAP.

Championship Tally

The team currently participates in 11 out of 16 events in the UAAP (as of UAAP Season 69), including total number of championships won (in the UAAP) senior (men and women teams)championships combined (if applicable).

On July 24, 2008, player Mac Baracael was shot by an unidentified gunman. He played again during the 2nd Round game vs. the NU Bulldogs, and his team is currently playing in the Semifinals.

The Tamaraws finished the second round with 10 wins and 4 losses. They lost their first semifinals game to the De La Salle Green Archers on September 11, 2008, and will fight the Archers again on September 14.

Basketball Rivals

* UE Red Warriors, involved in the previous "Battle of the East", both the FEU and UE basketball teams dominate in said UAAP event from the 1950's up to the late 1980's, and also rivals in terms of number of championships won in UAAP basketball history.
* De La Salle Green Archers, the rivalry was sparked when the 1991 Final when La Salle's final game win was protested by the FEU after a Green Archer was admitted into the playing court after being disqualified. The UAAP Board upheld the protest and ordered the replay. La Salle did not show up, claiming to have won legitimately, and FEU was awarded the trophy. La Salle then had their victory parade pass through all UAAP schools - when they passed through the FEU campus, the motorcade was bombarded with debris. La Salle had to give up another trophy to FEU in 2004, when a two Green Archers were found to have falsified documents, thus awarding FEU, their Finals opponent, the trophy.UAAP Basketball Champions] The rivalry is unofficially known as the "Battle of the Greens", because both teams sport green in their uniforms.
