Cactus Club Cafe

The Cactus Club Cafe is a casual fine dining restaurant that was first established in 1988 in North Vancouver, British Columbia by Richard Jaffray and Scott Morrison. In the 1980s and 1990s, the chain featured a fun and amusing decor, with a cartoon cow as a mascot; a redesign of the restaurants in the 2000s moved more upscale, offering patrons a stylish metropolitan lounge-style atmosphere. There are 17 locations in BC, five of which are in Vancouver. Some of its most popular locations are located on Vancouver's Robson Street, Yaletown, and West Broadway near the South Granville Rise, as well as the Park Royal location in West Vancouver. The Cactus Club Cafe also has three locations in Alberta: two in Calgary and one in Edmonton.

The Cactus Club Cafe has won a number of awards, including the first place award for Best Casual Restaurant Chain in the 2008 Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards (it won second place in 2006 and 2007). Deloitte and National Post named it one of Canada's 50 best managed companies in 2007. Its Coquitlam location was the two-time winner of best casual dining and best lunch dining in the Tri-City area. According to BCBusiness Magazine (2007), the Cactus Club Cafe is one of BC's top 10 employers.

In February 2008, the restaurant's parent company, Cactus Restaurants Ltd., announced that high-profile Vancouver "Iron Chef" Rob Feenie had joined the organization as Food Concept Architect, after he had cut ties with Lumiere and Feenie's, the well-known fine-dining restaurants at which he had previously been executive chef.
