Soil zoology

Soil zoology

Soil zoology is the study of animals living fully or partially in the soil (soil fauna). The term was apparently first used for a Conference attended by a large number of soil zoologists, to present their research dealing with the subject at the University of Nottingham, UK, whose proceedings were published in 1955, [Soil Zoology. Proceedings of the University of Nottingham, Second Easter School in Agricultural Science, 1955. by D. Keith McE. Kevan.] using this term for its title.
