*For satellite broadcasts, the NHK licence fee is ¥2,340 per month or ¥26,100 per annum.
*Apart from WOWOW, the satellite channels listed above are free-to-air. The only charges incurred for receiving these channels are the NHK licence fee and equipment costs. This corresponds roughly to the situation of Freesat in the United Kingdom.
