Martine Croxall

Martine Sarah Croxall (born 1969, Hinckley, Leicestershire) is an English journalist and television news presenter.

Education

Croxall was educated at St Margaret's, Church of England Primary School in the village of Stoke Golding, Leicestershire. The school is situated near to the exact place where King Henry VII was crowned immediately after the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485. Croxall's father taught the school's young students swimming, at after school swimming lessons in the school's own swimming pool, while she was a student there. She then continued her education at the independent Bablake School in Coventry.[1] She then studied Geography at the University of Leeds, gaining her BA in 1990, following this with a year out in Africa.[2]

Career

She joined the BBC with work experience at BBC Radio Leicester. Following this, Croxall began work at East Midlands Today, the BBC regional news programme for that region. Since that she has also worked at Newsroom South East (1997) and UK Today, a BBC satellite television programme discontinued in 2002.[3]

She is currently a relief presenter on BBC News, as well as being a presenter of the overnight 0100 - 0500 time slot simulcast on the channel and international news and current affairs channel, BBC World News she has also taken a new role presenting Extreme Weather for GREEN.TV [1].

Personal life

Croxall married Stephen Morris in December 2000 in Kensington, west London. The couple have a son (born March 2002) and daughter (born June 2004), and live in Hertfordshire.
