Forest Hills is a wheelchair accessible station on the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road. It serves the residents of Forest Hills, Queens and is located The station is located at Austin Street and Continental Avenue (71st Avenue), just south of Queens Boulevard, within the City Terminal Zone. There are two side platforms, which can hold a 4-car train. The station is located within Fare Zone 1, and is in the CityTicket program. The station is located in an area of Forest Hills known as Station Square. Built in 1906 and rebuilt in 1911, the station is the only one in the system not to have standard blue and white signage. Instead, there are plaques and historic style signage within and around the station, complementing to the architecture to the stationhouse, and the surrounding area. Among this history is the fact that on July 4, 1917, former President Theodore Roosevelt made his "Unification Speech" from the steps of this station.
