Uthman ibn Hunaif

Uthman ibn Hunaif was one of the companions of Muhammad. He did not give allegiance to Abu Bakr, until Ali supposedly did so. Qadi Yusuf says that Uthman bin Hunaif was an authority in all Arabia on taxation, assessment of land revenue and land reclamation. He was employed by Umar as a land revenue expert,A Restatement of the History of Islam and Muslims on Al-Islam.org [http://al-islam.org/restatement/57.htm] , referencing Kitabul-Kharaj and Siyar-ul-Ansar] the only Ansar who was given any privilege by Umar.
