Norman Anthony Godman (born 19 April 1937) is a Scottish Labour Party politician. He served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Greenock and Port Glasgow from 1983 to 1997, and for Greenock and Inverclyde from 1997 to 2001.

Background

Prior to his political career, he was a shipwright and lecturer, earning a PhD. He also served in the Royal Military Police during his National Service. He first entered Parliament in 1983, and stepped down in 2001. From 1988-1989 he was Opposition spokesman for Agricultural and Rural Affairs.

His wife is Trish Godman, Member of the Scottish Parliament for West Renfrewshire.
