Khandapada (also spelt as Khandapara) is a town and a notified area committee in Nayagarh district in the Indian state of Orissa.

Geography

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Khandapada had a population of 8754. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Khandapada has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 67%. Politics

Current MLA from Khandapada Assembly Constituency is independent candidate Bijayalaxmi Pattnaik, who won the seat in State elections in 2004 and also in 2000 representing BJD. Bibhuti Bhushan Singh Mardaraj of INC won this seat in 1995, 1985 and also in 1980 as an independent candidate. Arun Kumar Pattanaik of JD won this seat in 1990 and Satyasundar Mishra won it in 1977 as independent candidate. [cite web
