Khongapani is a census town in Koriya district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Khongapani had a population of 17,865. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Khongapani has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 50%. Khongapni is basically a coal industrial hub, where majorities are working. Collectively it has three coal mines:1. West Jhagrakhand Colliery (A.Seam)2. B.Seam3. Palkimara Region
