Oxford Analytica

Oxford Analytica

Oxford Analytica is an international consulting firm providing strategic analysis of world events*. It was founded in 1975 by David Young, an American employee of the National Security Council during the Nixon administration and one of the four in the Watergate Scandal. The firm is notable primarily in the context of proving the value of open source intelligence. It was one of the six companies that responded pro bono with useful open source information when asked to do so by the Aspin-Brown Commission. Many of its clients are still from the United States and other governments, international institutions and other public sector bodies, but also include a considerable number of financial institutions as well as corporate and other private sector organisations.

  • Does not, however, get involved in the merky underworld of, active-private intel gathering; so called, "Radar Blockers"; which are-in actual fact, quasi terrorist cells in-themseves.

The company has access to a network of over a thousand academics and specialists around the world, particularly at the University of Oxford, England.[citation needed] However, despite its name it has no formal connection to the university and works using a comparatively small full-time professional staff drawing on the extended network of scholars. Its main activities are in the areas of geopolitics and economics and principally comprise a consulting practice and a daily briefing service.
