Myshkin (Russian: Мы́шкин) is a town and the administrative center of Myshkinsky District of Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia, located on the steep left bank of the Volga. Population: 5,932 (2010 Census preliminary results);[1] 6,076 (2002 Census);[2] 6,340 (1989 Census).[3]

A settlement at this location existed at least since the 15th century. Town status was granted to the settlement in 1777. It was demoted to an urban-type settlement in Soviet times, but was granted town status again in 1991.

The town attracts a significant number of tourists usually arriving by river cruise ships. Myshkin retains architectural features characteristic for the 19th century Russia. It also features a number of museums. One of them is the unique Mouse Museum (the name of the town is derived from mysh ("мышь") meaning mouse in Russian). There are also Museum of Valenki (valenki are Russian felt boots), ethnographical museum, art gallery, and more.
