Frank Kornet

Frank Kornet

Frank Kornet (born January 27, 1967 in Lexington, Kentucky), is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2nd round (30th overall) of the 1989 NBA Draft. Kornet played two seasons in the NBA, both with the Bucks. In his NBA career, he appeared in a total of 89 games and averaged 1.9 ppg. He played collegiately at Vanderbilt University from 1985 to 1989, and was named all-Southeastern Conference in his senior year.

When Frank was playing with Vandy, his team suffered a tragic loss to Florida. They were up by two and had the game won, with about 3 seconds left on the clock. Vandy had the ball, so all they needed to do was hold it. Then it happened. Tennis balls pummeled the court, which were thrown by Vandy fans. In the previous week, a Florida student beat up another student with a tennis racket. It had been all over the news that week. The Vandy fans, knowing they had the game won, threw several of tennis balls. The referees called a technical foul on the fans. The Florida player nailed his free throws and the it was over. Vandy lost the game.

Frank Kornet now has a family of his own. He has a beautiful wife, Tracy, and three tall children. The oldest child, John, is about 6'9, just as tall as Frank. Frank's daughter, Nicole, is also a great athlete. As an 8th grader she received letters from The University North Carolina, The University of Texas, SMU, and many more. Frank's youngest son, Luke just turned 13 and is already 5'11/6'0. Frank is a loving father who is now a coach for both of his sons. He loves the game of basketball and still to this day, has not given it up.
