Madeleine Potter is an American actress who, between 1983 and 2007, has played supporting roles in over twenty films and TV shows, including four productions directed by James Ivory.

A native of Washington, D.C., Madeleine Potter is the daughter and granddaughter of American diplomats and a first cousin, once removed, of the 1960s tastemaker and fashion designer Pauline de Rothschild. She is also a great-great-granddaughter of Episcopal bishop Alonzo Potter and a great-great-niece of Episcopal bishop Henry Codman Potter.

Madeleine Potter's only child, actress Madeleine Daly, appeared with her in 2005's "The White Countess".
