Luis Barragan (Sept. 11, 1971 – July 7, 2006) was an American businessman and philanthropist. He was president of 1-800-Mattress at the time of his death.
Luis grew up in Jamaica, New York and was a product of the catholic school system. While living in Jamaica, he attended the Presentation of the B.V.M. Elementary School on Parson's Blvd in Queens and then moved on to St. Francis Preparatory High School in Fresh Meadows, NY. Barragan later graduated with a business degree from St. John's University and joined the 1-800-Mattress in 1992. The company was founded by his father Napoleon Barragan in 1976.
He was vice chairman of the Better Business Bureau Serving Metropolitan New York.
Barragan drowned while vacationing with his family in Salisbury, Connecticut on July, 6, 2006. He is survived by his wife Leslie, and 3 small children.
