Lancashire local elections were held for Lancashire County Council in May 2001 on the same day as the United Kingdom general election, 2001.They have been followed by the Lancashire Council election, 2005 held on the same day as the United Kingdom general election, 2005

Results

*Burnley:Labour hold all 6 seats - Burnley Central East, Burnley Central West, Burnley North East, Burnley Rural, Burnley South West, and Burnley West

*Chorley:Labour win Chorley East, Chorley North, Chorley Rural West and Chorley West:Conservative Chorley Rural East, and Chorley Rural North

*Fylde:Conservative wins all five wards - Fylde East, Fylde West, Lytham, St Annes North, St Annes South.

*Hyndburn:Labour win all six seats - Accrington Central, Accrington South, Church and Accrington North, Great Harwood, Oswaldtwistle and Rishton, Clayton-le-Moors and Altham.

*Lancaster:Labour win the wards Heysham, Lancaster East, Morecambe East, Morecambe West, and Skerton.:Green Party win Lancaster City:Conservative win Lancaster Rural Central, Lancaster Rural North, and Lancaster Rural South

*West Lancashire:Labour win Ormskirk, Skelmersdale East, Skelmersdale East, Skelmersdale West:Conservatives win West Lancashire East, West Lancashire North and West Lancashire South

*Pendle:Labour won the wards Colne, Nelson, Pendle South:Conservatives succeeded in Pendle West:Liberal Democrats held on in Pendle East, and Pendle North

*Preston:Labour win Preston Central East, Preston Central West, Preston East, Preston South East, Preston South West, and Preston West:Conservatives hold onto Preston Rural East:Liberal Democrats succeed in Preston North and Preston Rural West

*Ribble Valley:Conservatives won Longridge, Ribble Valley North East, and Ribble Valley South West:Liberal Democrats won Clitheroe

*Rossendale:Labour won in Haslingden, Rossendale East, Rossendale West, and Whitworth:Conservatives win the ward of Bacup

*South Ribble:Labour won South Ribble Central, South Ribble North, South Ribble South, South Ribble South West:An independent candidate won South Ribble East:Conservatives held on in South Ribble West:Liberal Democrats came out top in South Ribble North West

*Wyre:Conservatives won Amounderness, Cleveleys, Garstang, Hillhouse, Poulton-le-Fylde, Wyreside:Labour won in Hesketh and Marine
