"Philosophy and Literature" is an academic journal founded in 1977. It explores the connections between literary and philosophical studies by presenting ideas on the aesthetics of literature, critical theory, and the philosophical interpretation of literature. The journal aims to challenge academic dogma, and articles tend to be written in plain English, eschewing the specialized language of academic disciplines. The editors are doctors Denis Dutton of the University of Canterbury and Garry Hagberg of Bard College.

The journal is published semiannually in April and October. Circulation is 823 and the average length of an issue is 224 pages.
