Mayflower High School, founded in 1966, and named after The Mayflower, is a coeducational, secondary school located in Billericay, Essex in the East of England in the United Kingdom. The school has a mixed intake of students aged 11–18 (School years 7 to 13) and is a community comprehensive. As of June 2006 the number of enrolled students was 1418.[1] Mayflower has specialist schools status: it is designated by the Department for Education and Skills as a science and mathematics college and a language college.

Heads
The Head of Science is Pauline Mason and the Head of Mathematics is Andrew Eastwick. Mayflower's headteacher is Lee Brumby , and the respective Lower & Upper School heads are Carol Kerrigan and Kelly Farrant. The Head Of Sixth Form is Adele Roberts. Each year group has a 'head of year' who manages the year groups progress. A Head of year will move with their year group from year 8 until they leave school. Year 7's head of year is always Nikki Guy. Since 2011, Mayflower was made an academy and has a waiting list for every year. It is a very well equipped school.
Results
Their 2007 test results were around average, with 66% achieving 5 A* to Cs at GCSE including English and Maths, as omitting two of the three main teaching categories would be an attempt to falsify the correct result percentages. The school scored 847 points at A Level The 2007 results were vastly improved on previous years, 16% better than 1997 at GCSE and 829.4 Points better at A Level. The Schools Value added results between KS2 and KS4 are nearly or just over 100 each year since 2002 [2]
