Lillemor "Lill" Lindfors (born
May 12 ,1940 , inHelsinki ,Finland ) is a Finnish-Swedishjazz singer. She has been performing inScandinavia with minor and major success since the 1960s. She lives in Stockholm, Sweden. She is famous in Scandinavia for her "one-woman-shows" where she mix music with a lot of comedy. She was one of the first artist that sung "samba" in Sweden and she was also one of the first swedish performers that did "stand-up-comedy" in her shows. She was married in 1969 to Director Peter Wester, with whom she had one child, though the couple divorced in 1973.Ms. Lindfors's performance of "Nygammal vals (Hip Man Svinaherde)" ("New-Old Waltz (Hip Pig Breeder)") with Svante Thuresson took second place in the
1966 Eurovision Song Contest .She was a presenter at the
1985 Eurovision Song Contest inGothenburg ,Sweden , and was most famous for suffering awardrobe malfunction live, during the contest, after passing through a part of the elaborate set. She later admitted it was a gag, not practised during rehearsals beforehand. According to author John Kennedy O'Connor's book "The Eurovision Song Contest - The Official History", the EBU were not pleased with this stunt and the wife of scrutineer Frank Naef, was particularly shocked by the incident. She also performed "Musik skall byggas utav glädje" ("My Joy Is Building Bricks of Music") as the contest's major opener.She has starred in several swedish TV-shows which has been awarded in Montreaux.
In 1998, she became Sweden's Goodwill Ambassador to UNICEF.
Ms. Lindfors released a new single in 2006, "Ditt Vackra Leende".
