Stephen Joseph "Steve" Gromek (January 15 1920, Hamtramck, MichiganJanuary 15 2002) was a Major League Baseball pitcher. He played seventeen seasons in the American League, with the Cleveland Indians (1941-1953) and the Detroit Tigers (1953-1957).

An All-Star in 1945, Gromek posted a 19-9 won-loss record with a 3.26 ERA. In Game 4 of the 1948 World Series, Gromek pitched one game, defeating the Boston Braves in a complete game win. He was traded mid-season to the Tigers in by|1953. In his first full season with the team, Gromek went 18-16 with a 2.74 ERA, and 17 complete games.

In 1981, Gromek became a member of the National Polish-American Hall of Fame.

He died on his 82nd birthday in 2002, of undisclosed causes.
