José Ádem

José Ádem

José Ádem Chaín (born in Tuxpan, Veracruz, October 27, 1921; died February 14, 1991) was a Mexican mathematician who worked in
algebraic topology, and discovered the Ádem relations between Steenrod squares.

He did postgraduate work at Princeton University where his advisor was Norman Steenrod.

He was ellected to El Colegio Nacional on 4 April 1960.
