Philippe Quint

Philippe Quint is a Russian-born American violinist. His debut album, William Schuman’s Violin Concerto received two Grammy Award nominations including Best Soloist - with Orchestra. Quint emigrated from Russia in 1991 to become a U.S. citizen. On loan though the Stradivari Society, Quint plays the "Kiesewetter Stradivarius" violin of 1723 owned by philanthropists Clement and Karen Arrison. In April 2008 the violin, valued at US$4 million, was left by in the back seat of a Newark, New Jersey taxi cab. The "Kiesewetter" was returned to him the following day by cabdriver, Mohamed Khalil.
