Lepirudin (Refludan ) is an anticoagulant which functions as a direct thrombin inhibitor.

It is derived from the saliva of the medicinal leech "Hirudo medicinalis".

Lepirudin may be used as a medication in Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia.
