Neal Conan (born November 1949, Beirut, Lebanon) is an American radio journalist, producer, editor, and correspondent. He is senior host of the National Public Radio talk show Talk of the Nation.[2]

During the 1991 Gulf War Conan was detained by the Iraqi Republican Guard. Conan has hosted Talk of the Nation since 2001.[3]

Conan was featured as a minor character in the 1988 Marvel Comics X-Men crossover series Fall of the Mutants,[4] and has featured sporadically in that comic book as a sympathetic journalist over the years.

Conan is married to Liane Hansen, former host of NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday. They have a son and a daughter.[5] Hansen revealed in April of 2011 that she and Conan are divorcing.[6]
