The Royal Mail celebrated the opening of the new Welsh Assembly building with a new miniature sheet

Reason for Issue

The new building housing the Welsh Assembly, the Senedd, was opened by HM The Queen on 1 March 2006 (Saint David's Day).

The sheet consists of a number of Welsh definitive stamps. The border of the miniature sheet shows a detail from the roof of the new Welsh Assembly building facing Cardiff Bay designed by Richard Rogers. The sheet consists of 1 x Welsh 2nd class stamp, 2 x Welsh 1st class stamps, and 2 x Welsh 68p stamps.
