Description

The tree is fastigiate and has broad, crinkled leaves clustered on short shoots; when these are young they are suffused yellow, but as the tree ages they revert to green.

Pests and diseases

'Wredei' is susceptible to Dutch elm disease.

Cultivation

The tree originated at the Alt-Gelow Arboretum, near Potsdam, Germany, in 1875 Elwes, H. J. & Henry, A. (1913). "The Trees of Great Britain & Ireland."] Vol. VII. pp 1848-1929. Private publication.
