"F. Emasculata" was the twenty-second episode of the second season of "The X-Files" science-fiction television series created by Chris Carter. The episode's title refers to the insect carrying the infection, "Faciphaga emasculata", which is said to be a parasitoid.

Plot

Mulder and Scully find themselves sent to a penitentiary in order to participate in the retrieval of two escaped convicts. Confused as to the reason for FBI involvement, they soon discover a highly contagious and deadly disease has infected many of the inmates, and possibly the two escapees as well. A conspiracy involving the government and a major pharmaceutical company turns out to be at work.
