Gilmerton, Edinburgh

Gilmerton is a suburb of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It is south-west of Danderhall. Its name derives from a combination of Gaelic ; "Gille-Moire" - from which we have the first, "Gilmer", element - and English "ton" [.

Gilmerton is also home to Gilmerton Boxing Club which has produced professional boxers such as Gary Young.
