Baron Barrymore

Baron Barrymore, of Barrymore in the County of Cork, was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 18 July 1902 for the Conservative politician Arthur Hugh Smith-Barry, formerly Member of Parliament for County Cork and Huntingdon. He was the grandson of John Smith Barry, illegitimate son of James Hugh Smith Barry (died 1837), son of the Hon. John Smith Barry, younger son of James Barry, 4th Earl of Barrymore (a title which had become extinct in 1823; see the Earl of Barrymore). Lord Barrymore had no surviving male issue and the title became extinct on his death on 22 February 1925.
