The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine was established in 1977 and joined the Health Science Center in 1999. Christopher C. Colenda, M.D., M.P.H. is the dean of the College of Medicine. The College of Medicine's mission is to educate and equip physicians who are compassionate about their patients and dedicated to the communities in which they serve. With campuses in College Station and Temple and programs throughout Central Texas and the Coastal Bend, approximately 700 basic scientists and clinicians instruct students during the course of their medical education. The school offers the M.D. degree and specialty training for most medical and surgical specialties.

The college is affiliated with several well-established clinical facilities:
*Scott & White Hospital and Clinic in Temple, Texas
*Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (VA Hospitals Consortium) in Temple, Texas
*Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas
*Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas
